THE FOURTEENTH ANNUAL REPORT
Members of the Association will be pleased to learn that our President, Colonel Frank Bierce Maltby, has recently been presented with the Cross of the Legion of Honour by the French Government in recognition of his splendid work in France while in charce of Base I.

Regarding the English research work - we have recently the results. Mr. Fothergill rearched the Lay Subsidy Rolls of Kexby, Ingham, Upton and Willboughton back to 1154, and found no Maltbys beyond our own line. As Thomas Lord Darcy owned the manors of Upton and Kexby in 1508 the supposition is that the Maltbys came into Kexby in the reign of Henry VII (1485 - 1509) from some one of the numerous manors owned by Lord Darcy. The Secretary wishes this year to employ what money we may receive, in further research, getting out simply the Treasurer's report and names of any new members; as owing to large costs of reports we cannot do both. Members who object to this plan will please notify the Secretary. Silence will be taken for consent.

We have the pleasure of including in our membership roll the names of fourteen new members. Death has taken from us one of our original members - Colonel Ralph Robinson Maltby - a loss which we greatly feel. "An officer and a gentleman" throughout his life, with all those words imply in their highest sense. No words seem adequate to draw a picture of this kindly, genial, noble gentleman. His death comes as a great loss to many. Colonel Maltby died January 16th, 1920, at his home near Washington, Kentucky, in his 90th year. He was the Organizer of the Famous Old 10th Kentucky in the Civil War. He descended from Timothy (6), Timothy (5), Samuel (4), Samuel (3), Samuel (2), William (1).

The report of the Treasurer has been difficult to arrange owing to the fact that some members pay dues in advance.
